A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CRUISE WITH ROYAL CARIBBEAN

Whether it's rock-climbing or ice skating, taking a tour with one of our experienced shore excursion guides or simply relaxing in the sun on the top deck. There really is so much to do on a Royal Caribbean cruise our guests will never get bored.

A typical day for the family
As we've done every morning of our holiday. we wake up at our leisure. The kids are still fast asleep - it must be the exercise and the sea air! We have arrived in a new port - looking forward to what the day will bring.

First things first - it's off to the Windjammer Cafe for breakfast and to plan the day. There are plenty of options to keep the whole family happy! Eggs, bacon, fruit, cereal, toast. pancakes, waffles. the list goes on and on...! Royal Caribbean also offers Shipshape' dishes which have been specially created to offer low fat, low cholesterol options. There really is something for everyone to enjoy.

The kids have decided on an active day on the ship - so they are off swimming, to have a game of basketball, and then onto the Adventure Ocean' programme. With specially designed and supervised activities that cater for seven separate age groups from 6 months to 17 years it is the perfect way to keep them all entertained!

For the adults it's a guided sightseeing tour around our latest port. After the tour and a quick visit to the local markets it's back to the ship for a late-lunch and an afternoon by the pool with the kids (if they aren't having too much fun!).

Once the evening approaches it is time to make a decision on where to eat. With such a range of choices it really does depend on our mood. We love the 4 course menu in the main dining room and the fine dining service is always a delight. Tonight we are off to Johnny Rockets' for a classic 1950's American style diner meal - should be a fun and filling meal which is just what we need after our busy day.

After dinner we go to watch a show before heading to Casino Royale to try our luck. The older kids are back to the special nightclub for teenagers - Fuel. For the younger ones we are taking advantage of the babysitting service offered on the ship and leaving them in the company of a Royal Caribbean baby sitter What a treat!

Wow - another day has flown by! Time to head back to our stateroom, have a night-cap on our balcony and get ready to do it all again tomorrow!

A typical day for couples

Wake up and it's another beautiful day! Both of us are fully refreshed after taking full advantage of the spa facilities yesterday. so ready to do some exploring around our latest port of call!

But first it's time to eat. As we are keen to get our day started it is just a quick continental style breakfast at the Windjammer Cafe, then off to the port on our guided shore excursion.

The shore excursions that Royal Caribbean offer are amazing - everything from local food and wine tours to helicopter trips over exotic locations, the choice is incredible! Today we have decided on doing a back country Jeep tour. The tour itself was amazing and the waterfalls that we saw were incredible! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable as well as being great funl He really gave us a great understanding of all the local places of interest.

Still buzzing from the amazing sights, the afternoon is all about relaxation, Royal Caribbean really does go out of its way to ensure couples have as much privacy as they want and as much fun as they can handle' From nice touches such as the hammock for two, the special couples massage room and the adult's only swimming pools to the intimate eateries, we really are extremely well catered for.

After our lazy afternoon it's time to get ready for this evenings activities!

Last night we tried one of the speciality restaurants - Chops Grille, the steaks that they offer are unbelievable: Tonight is the formal night in the main dining room. Everyone looks absolutely fantastic' As ever, the food on offer is delicious and the people on our table are fantastic company.

Over our meal we decide what to do for the rest of the evening. We have already visited the onboard cinema to check out the latest releases and the Ice-Spectacular that we saw last night was nothing short of amazing! Tonight we are off to the nightclub and if the mood takes us - a little karaoke

Once again we fall into bed, tired but happy after yet another fantastic day on a Royal Caribbean ship. I'm so pleased we decided to go on this cruise together - we've had the most fantastic time!
